Un Sedicesimo 14B
Un Sedicesimo 14B, 2010
off-set printed, duotone
dimention: 13.5 x 16.5 cm opens to 66 x 47 cm
Published by Edizioni Corraini, Mantova, Italy
Un Sedicesimo, meaning "one sixteenth" in Italian, is a bimonthly magazine that features a different artist's work in each issue. Conceived to be a "gallery on paper," the selected artist is encouraged to create a 16 page project whose subject and design is entirely up to him or her.
For this issue, Tomi Um has designed a theatrical fold-out artist's book/poster that takes the reader on an exuberant journey up a mountain, through a curtained passageway, and into a dazzling amphitheater where hundreds of monks sit transfixed by the opera that is underway.
